Editor’s Pick

Anniversary dinner? Oak Bistro.

My husband and I celebrated our 8th wedding anniversary on Tuesday. We were determined to try a new place, something outside our usual routine, and — since we went out on Sunday evening — somewhere relaxed and unpretentious.

We landed on Oak Bistro in Cambridge. The staff welcomed us with well wishes, a cozy seat by the window, and a special note on our table. The fall menu is delectable: shredded duck gnocchi, scallops with squash risotto and mushrooms, apple beignets with a maple chocolate sauce, and an Inman Equinox cocktail featuring whiskey, sorel, and spiced maple flavors.
